A note

from

Dr. Natalie

I had been studying French for 5 years. But when it came time to order a coffee in Paris, I still felt stressed

All I wanted was a drip coffee, but I never quite knew how to ask for it. So I'd order un café and try to convince myself (unsuccessfully) that I liked espresso.

When I got back from that trip, I realized something had to change. I was tired of adjusting my personality in French and settling for less than what I actually wanted to say.

This experience led me to pursue my Bachelor and Master’s in French, and later a PhD in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. I wanted to help adults express themselves clearly and confidently in real-life French for France and Québec, both places that I have lived and experienced the Francophone culture.

Today, my mission is to help you build confidence in spoken French through step-by-step, research-backed lessons that actually transfer to real conversations.

If you want to feel more at ease on your next trip -- without freezing or second-guessing yourself as you order your café au lait – you're in the right place.

I can’t wait to help you with this next step in your French journey.

À bientôt!
